The Pokémon’s ice head can take a physical attack as a substitute, but the attack also changes the Pokémon’s appearance. The ice will be restored when it snows.

Ice Face is the signature ability of Eiscue. It allows the Pokémon to take a physical attack without taking damage. After the attack, Eiscue changes to its "No Ice Face" form; however, it can be restored when hail is active.
