"New Pokémon Snap" (Japanese: New ポケモンスナップ, English: New Pokémon Snap) is a photo action game developed by Bandai Namco Studio and published by Nintendo on the Nintendo Switch platform. It will be released on April 30, 2021.
This game is a newly created game based on the gameplay of "Pokémon Tap" released on the Nintendo 64 in 1999. There are more than 200 Pokémon appearing, including the latest version of "Pokémon Sword and Shield".
How to play
The protagonist in the game will visit the unexplored archipelago "Lanteel Region". Each island is composed of various rich natural environments such as jungles and oceans. He will conduct an ecological survey on the vibrant wild Pokémon. While discovering the expressions and movements of the Pokémon that have never been shown before, he will take photos to complete his own Pokémon photo album.
Players will sit on the "New One" automatic vehicle and take photos of Pokémon's various appearances through the camera. The photos taken are given to Dr. Ajing for analysis, and they are evaluated according to different scoring standards. The adventure begins with the goal of completing a high-rated Pokémon illustrated book.
story
The protagonist will accept the commission of Dr. Ajing and visit the Rantel area, which is rich in nature. He will conduct an ecological survey by taking photos of the vibrant wild Pokémon. While discovering the expressions and movements of the Pokémon that have never been shown before, the protagonist will take photos to complete his own Pokémon photo book. There are more than 200 species of wild Pokémon inhabiting nature. You can throw "light apples", a fruit produced in the Rantel region, to Pokémon to attract their attention or to observe how they eat. If you use the "Neon Beads" developed by Dr. Akira on Pokémon, or use the "Melody" function to play music, something different from usual things may happen. In the Rantel area, you can observe the "Neon Phenomenon" where Pokémon and vegetation glow. This is a phenomenon unique to this area, and Dr. Ajing is also conducting research on this phenomenon. While investigating the ecology of Pokémon, let’s also investigate the mystery of the neon phenomenon.
