"Pokémon Yellow" (Japanese version name: ポケットモンスター ピカチュウ, English version name: Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition, also translated as "Pokémon Yellow") is a role-playing game produced by Game Freak and published by Nintendo on the Game Boy.
After Nintendo launched "Pokémon Red/Green" in 1996, it was well received and launched a TV animation in 1997. Because of the popularity of the TV animation, Nintendo adapted and designed "Pokémon Yellow" based on "Pokémon Red/Green" and added animation plot-related elements.
