Effect
Primordial Sea creates heavy rain when the ability is activated (by Kyogre reverting to its Primal form).
Heavy rain has similar effects to regular rain with some important differences:
- The weather remains active as long as the ability-bearer stays in battle, stopping if the Pokémon is switched out.
- Fire-type moves are nullified, “fizzling out” with no effect.
- Heavy rain cannot be replaced by regular weather conditions. This means that moves like Hail, Rain Dance, Sunny Day, and Sandstorm, as well as abilities like Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning, will fail.
Cloud Nine and Air Lock can temporarily bypass the effects of Primordial Sea, but Mold Breaker cannot.
